The Ultimate Book Tag

The Ultimate Book Tag
1. Do you get sick while reading in the car?
No I don't since I don't get car sick. But sometimes if I travel for a long time I start to get anxious (I don't even know how to describe it)
2. Which author’s writing style is completely unique to you and why?
I love how all the characters in Paige Toon's books link together in some way
3. Harry Potter Series or the Twilight Saga? Give 3 points to defend your answer.
This may be surprising but I don't like Harry Potter as much as I used to and I never liked Twilight
4. Do you carry a book bag? If so, what is it in (besides books…)?
No but usually in my college bag I have a book with me. Right now I have The Queen of the Tearling in my bag
5. Do you smell your books?
Not usually because I don't think books have a smell unless they're old books

6. Books with or without little illustrations?
I love it when books have illustrations in them since I think that it adds to the story
7. What book did you love while reading but discovered later it wasn’t quality writing? (Ex. I read Twilight before I read HP and thought the writing was amazing but read HP and now think Twilight is a little bit of a joke.)
I loved Love Lessons but I think it's the plot that makes it bad rather than the writing style. The reason I loved it so much was because it helped me through some bad times when I was going through a similar thing
8. Do you have any funny stories involving books from your childhood? Please share!
I don't really think this is funny but in primary school we were reading Kensuke's kingdom and I read it myself and finished it before the rest of the class
9. What is the thinnest book on your shelf?
Probably The Princess Diaries Guide to Life, I don't know the exact number of pages but its small and easy to read

10. What is the thickest book on your shelf?
My Jane Austen collection which is around 1100 pages though it doesn't look that thick since the pages are thin
11. Do you write as well as read? Do you see yourself in the future as being an author?
I love to write, though I mainly write fanfiction. I'm currently working on a fantasy novel and I would love to have it published but I don't know if that will ever happen
12.When did you get into reading?
I've always loved reading for as long as I can remember
13. What is your favorite classic book?
I don't read classics
14. In school was your best subject Language Arts/English?
My best subject in primary school was Maths and my best subject in secondary school was probably History
15. If you were given a book as a present that you had read before and hated…what would you do?
I'd probably ask my friend if she wanted it and if not I'd keep it anyway
16.What is a lesser known series that you know of that is similar to Harry Potter or the Hunger Games?
Two series I can think of are:
The saga of Darren Shan by Darren Shan- a great story about vampires that doesn't romanticise them. Also it contains a freak show with some unique freaks
The Gone series by Michael Grant- a series about a world where everyone over the age of 15 suddenly disappears and people get powers. It has a similar feel to the Hunger Games where teenagers are killing each other.
17. What is a bad habit you always do (besides rambling) while filming?
I don't really film videos, mainly because my Ipod broke and that was what I used to film
18. What is your favorite word?
I don't have a favourite word
19. Are you a nerd, dork, or dweeb? Or all of the above?
Probably all of the above
20. Vampires or Fairies? Why?
Vampires as long as they aren't like Twilight
21. Shapeshifters or Angels? Why?
I've never read a book with either, unless you count the angels in Mortal Instruments
22. Spirits or Werewolves? Why?
I like werewolves if they have an unusual twist to them
23. Zombies or Vampires?
Vampires for the same reason as I love both
 24. Love Triangle or Forbidden Love
I have a soft spot for both of these even though they can be over done. I love both as long as they are done well

25. AND FINALLY: Full on romance books or action-packed with a few love scenes mixed in?
I love books with any kind of romance in no matter if it is the main plot or just a side story

I knew you were trouble review

I knew you were trouble by Paige Toon

Author: Paige Toon
Publisher: Simon & Schuster
Publication date: July 2015

My rating: 🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟

My review:

I loved this book more than the first one, which I expected since the first one was an introduction to the characters and this one was the continuation I needed after the first one.

The book begins after Jessie returns home to England after spending the summer in LA with her dad, the famous Johnny Jefferson (hot book boyfriend alert)

I found that the first hundred pages or so we're slow since it mostly involved Jessie being back at school and being with her new boyfriend Tom.

Then disaster strikes when the press find out that she is the daughter of a famous rock star.

After a terrifying kidnapping attempt Jessie must leave everything behind and move in with her new family.

There she is reunited with Jack, a hot guitarist.

She must make her decision between Jack and Tom, all while trying to avoid the press and fit in.

Overall this was my favourite book by Paige Toon and I'm so excited for the sequel, All about the Hype.

Johnny is still my favourite book boyfriend but in this book I think I'm Team Jack, I love a bad boy
